Design Concepts – Renderings

Are you one of those people who just has a hard time visualizing a concept for your new space? Well if so, you’re not alone.

Many people have the same problem. That’s where a good interior designer can be an invaluable resource. A designer has many tools at theirinterior design bathroom presentation board disposal for helping folks understand their new space. One such tool is the presentation board. This will often have cuttings of samples, “look pictures”, even sketches, arranged on a board in one simple, easily digestible format. One look at the board and you get a clearer image of the colors and feeling of your new room. Another tool I like to use is the presentation drawing. While elevations can be helpful, I prefer to use perspective drawings. I find this helps my kitchen and bath design clients better understand what it may feel like to be in the space. I prefer to start with a black and white image so the clients are not swayed by color when deciding on a space plan.  Then I may add color as necessary to flush out the ideas.

Here are two examples of renderings I am working on for two fun and very different projects. The first is an art deco inspired bath which will have birdseye maple wood cabinets, a concrete countertop, and concrete shower walls and floor. The second is a mid-century modern kitchen with red, lime green and zebrano finishes. This will feature a concrete bar top with trough, concrete wine storage unit, concrete tile backsplash and recycled glass and concrete countertops all in different complementary colors. kitchen design rendering richmond decor and design centerHaving a good rendering is critical in designs like these where extreme color color choices or space constraints have a strong impact on the overall design. The last thing anyone wants to do is spend hard-earned money on a project that just isn’t quite as they envisioned.interior design rendering for bathroom design in richmond va
